Add ARY News on Googleimage: ary newsAAResizeKARACHI: The judicial commission constituted to investigate the death of young entrepreneur Mir Raza Ali has commenced proceedings and issued notices to the relevant parties.
The commission has summoned Mir Raza Ali’s family and their counsel, lawyer Jibran Nasir, to appear on August 28 (Friday). A notice has also been issued to the Sindh government’s focal person in connection with the proceedings.
According to the commission’s rules, the proceedings are to be completed within 30 days.
The commission is headed by Sindh High Court Justice Omar Sial and will investigate the circumstances surrounding Mir Raza Ali’s death and examine all aspects of the incident.
Mir Raza Ali went missing on July 28 after leaving his home in PECHS Block 2. His bullet-riddled body was found the following day in bushes opposite the University of Karachi near Shahi Qila Ground in Gulistan-i-Jauhar.
Earlier, the Sindh Home Department had notified the terms of reference (ToRs) for the judicial commission.
Under the ToRs, the commission will examine whether the investigation into the case was conducted impartially and in accordance with the law, and whether further investigation or additional evidence is required.

It will also investigate any negligence or dereliction of duty by police officials, the medico-legal officer (MLO) or any other government official involved in the case.
The commission will determine responsibility if evidence was concealed, altered or tampered with during the investigation.
It may also recommend further investigation, forensic analysis, or legal and departmental action where deemed necessary.
